When Your Side Hustle Has a Side Hustle

When Your Side Hustle Has a Side Hustle

Most people think of a side hustle as one extra thing. For me, it’s a couple of them stacked on top of each other.

I have a full-time job, I’m a mom (with all that entails), and then on the side I’m a real estate investor, an agent, a blogger… and now I’m figuring out this whole social media thing. Some days I feel energized by it all, and other days it’s just overwhelming.

Here’s what I’ve realized: balance isn’t really a thing. Not in the picture-perfect way we imagine it. Some weeks, real estate gets most of my energy. Other weeks, it’s content or writing. And plenty of days, being a mom takes the whole pie — and that’s okay too. If I try to do everything at once, nothing really gets done.

So instead, I’ve started asking: what matters most right now? The rest can wait its turn. Batching content, setting smaller goals, and letting go of “perfect” has been the only way to keep moving forward without burning out.

If you’re chasing something on the side — whether that’s real estate, a business, or a creative project — you probably get it. Life doesn’t pause to make space for it. It’s not always neat or balanced. But progress doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to keep going.

Our Road to Realty isn’t about doing it all at the same time. It’s about moving forward, one step (and side hustle) at a time
